Loan Administration And Management

Module 4: Loan Administration & Management

Loan administration and management is critical in the MABS Approach to microfinance. Microfinance loans are based primarily on the character and reputation of the applicants. An accurate and complete CIBI report enables the bank to screen out high-risk applicants and avoid serious delinquency problems. Cash flow analysis helps the bank determine loan size.

Objectives:

  • Internalize the importance of a thorough investigation (CI/BI) to assess credit-worthiness and a precise cash flow analysis to estimate loan size
  • Provide knowledge and tools to conduct an effective CI/BI and cash flow analysis
  • Review the causes and effects of delinquency and develop mechanisms to avoid it
  • Develop tools to gauge customer input and to retain clients
  • Provide mechanisms to monitor, evaluate and improve microfinance staff performance
  • Review performance standards and provide resources to track bank performance
