Savings Mobilization

Savings Mobilization

An advantage that rural banks have over non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and informal moneylenders is the ability to provide deposit services to their clients.  By expanding deposit services, rural banks can increase client outreach, reduce dependence on borrowings, and lower their financial cost of funds.

Objectives:

    • Evaluate the bank’s performance in deposits generation; review current products and competitiveness
    • Set the direction, goals and targets for deposits mobilization
    • Apply market research tools to identify new markets and enhance existing products
    • Apply costing and pricing methodology to increase deposits and reduce cost of deposits
    • Develop a marketing plan and strategies to promote deposit products
